No Points Today

Well, I hope to soon upgrade my posts to include photos.  I’m working on persuading Josh to let me keep our digital camera in the house instead of in his glove compartment.  Then I’ll be able to quickly snap pics of what I’m eating and cooking.

No points today, indeed.  I just don’t feel like going through the process of actually counting.  I’ve been on Weight Watchers long enough that I have a generally good grasp on what is enough food and what is too much.  I’m not saying I’ve got Points values memorized, but at the very least I can now tell when I need to stop eating.

For breakfast today I had a cinnamon raisin bagel with reduced-fat cream cheese from Dunkin’ Donuts.  This is my usual Sunday routine while I shop at the grocery store.  I also had a small French vanilla coffee with skim milk and one sugar.  I’m not a coffee person (more into tea, myself), but that was actually quite delicious.

For lunch I enjoyed a cup of Greek yogurt with peaches and a chocolate croissant.  Not the healthiest meal I’ve ever eaten, but not the unhealthiest either.

Tonight I will once again be making Jamie Oliver’s Roast chicken with tomatoes and asparagus.  I also have some potatoes to go with it this time.  I am in love with the foil-pan method.

So, I need to once again renew my commitment to the Plan, particularly to seeking out the least processed types of food to enjoy.  I need to simplify my lunches at work, and avoid things like commercial granola bars, pudding snacks (especially low-calorie ones), cracker snacks, and other such processed foods.  Back to the drawing board with fresh fruits, healthy cheeses, whole grains, vegetables, and low-fat sources of protein.  I am also getting into tomatoes.  I consider it a personal mission now to get myself to enjoy tomatoes.  So far, I have at least stopped hating them.  I have three meals this week planned, each of which includes grape tomatoes and at least one other vegetable.  Yum.
